This is a Porcelain burnished and pit fired bottle. The marks on the surface are created using various combustables including seaweed and coppen wire. Placed in a pit the pots are surrounded with sawdust and kindling then a large fire is built over the top and this is kept as fierce as possible for at least 2 hours to build the heat in the pit befor being covered and sealed around the edges to create a reduction atmosphere wherin the magic happens.
